Born and raised in New York, Shay’s real estate career began 12 years ago with the recommendation of all recommendations – a personal referral from the Queen of NYC Real Estate, Barbara Corcoran. Ms. Corcoran took a liking to Shay at a real estate seminar and told her exactly what to do to get her foot in the door – “Call this guy and tell him I said to give you a job!”.

The next day Shay did exactly that and was offered a position as a Broker Assistant with The Corcoran Group Brooklyn. After one year as an assistant to a top-producing agent, Shay went on to become a full-time agent for the brokerage. After several years, Shay began to revisit her original goal: not to stay with a large firm, but to start her own brokerage so she could offer personal, flexible service to her clients and create a brand for herself that truly reflects who she is. Sticking to that goal, Shay left the large firm and started Peter Estates.

Straight-forwardness, integrity, and transactional ease are a few of the driving forces to Shay’s business style. With a Marketing and Advertising degree from the S.I Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Shay is a natural when it comes to marketing strategy and navigating advertising mediums. Effective advertising works! – and she has a keen eye for providing right exposure and creating an audience of interested buyers for her clients.
